Banana Bread

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F, and butter a 4x8-inch loaf pan.
  2. Beat the egg in a mixing bowl
  3. Add the ripe bananas, and mash with a fork until completely smooth.
  4. Stir in the melted butter, sugar, and vanilla.
  5. In a separate mixing bowl, stir the flour, salt and baking soda together.
  6. Slowly, add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, while stirring.
  7. Mix in the optional walnuts and/or chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour at 350°F.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool in the pan for a few minutes.
  11. Remove the bread from the pan and let cool completely before serving.

Slice and serve.
